How Often Should You Mow Your Lawn?

lawn maintenance

Mowing the lawn throughout the year is not required at all. The season will largely determine whether mowing is required. While I am not an expert, I am in a position to tell you that mowing the lawn will not be required during severe winters right from November till February. In this blog, I will discuss the various seasons when lawn maintenance in Brantford is required.

During spring

Warmer days and nights will usher in a period when the grass growth is luxuriant and grass-cutting will have to be done every six to seven days. I have been able to keep my lawns healthy and attractive by reducing the length of the grass regularly. The frequency of grass cutting for lawn maintenance in Brantford will have to increase when the temperatures start to rise. And by the time it is summer, grass-cutting will have to be done almost every second day.

During the rainy season

When it is the rainy season, grass tends to grow fast. I find that they can make the lawn look untidy in a very short time indeed. A professional lawn maintenance contractor can only help in such a situation. They will be able to employ the equipment required to trim the grasses.

During autumn

Grass-cutting during the autumn season is just like summer. I am sure people think that during the fall, lawn maintenance will be easier. But, contrary to this, the weather is conducive to the growth of grass and lawn maintenance will be required. Many property owners use fertilizers in their farms that can spur grass growth and require professional help to restrict their growth in time.

During winters

The frequency of grass-cutting required for lawn maintenance will reduce as winters set in. By the time autumn is about to end, grass-cutting will have to be done every eight to nine days till it has to be stopped completely during the winter. Winters is a time when one can let down one’s guard.
